Jupiter Medical Center’s Ella Milbank Foshay Cancer Center and Rehabilitation Services joined forces to offer our cancer patients the STAR Program®, a nationally-certified program designed to meet the unique rehabilitative needs and interests of cancer patients and survivors.
As one of the country’s first STAR Program® Certified healthcare facilities - and the first in Florida - we are uniquely qualified to offer premium oncology rehabilitation services to cancer survivors undergoing treatment.
The STAR Program® integrates a variety of therapeutic techniques under the direct supervision of licensed physical, occupational and speech therapists, a dietician, oncology counselor, massage therapist, exercise specialists and oncology nurses. All aspects of rehabilitation are coordinated with the approval and guidance of the patient’s physician. A physician referral is required for enrollment.
JMC’s STAR Program is covered by Medicare and most insurance plans.
Jupiter Medical Center’s STAR Program® offers important physical and psychological rehabilitation to survivors so they can recover more quickly and more completely than they would otherwise. Feeling well and being able to resume normal day-to-day activities is essential to enjoying a good quality of life for survivors and their families.
Our caring and skilled, professional staff will work with patients to return them to their highest level of function and independence, while improving their physical, emotional and social well-being. Overall, by actively boosting their fitness level, cancer patients and survivors are better able to conquer the challenges of the disease and its potential long term effects.
