As tumors grow, they can sometimes obstruct normal flow of fluids in an organ. These obstructions can cause pain, discomfort or infection, and can lead to organ failure. At Jupiter Medical Center, Interventional Radiologists insert small tubes to relieve obstructions and allow fluids to drain normally. Additionally, some cancers result in fluid buildup in the chest or abdomen. Interventional Radiologists use imaging techniques to locate these fluid pockets and remove them using small tubes.
